Giving Back to the Community

Sheri and Matt have always felt strongly about giving back to their community, from donations to the Windermere Foundation and other meaningful causes to lending a helping hand in service projects and charity events. Here are some of the ways they get involved:

American Cancer Society – Road to Recovery

For over 100 years, the American Cancer Society (ACS) has worked relentlessly to save lives and create a world with less cancer. Together with millions of supporters worldwide, they help people to stay well and get well, find cures, and fight back against cancer. Everyday thousands of cancer patients need a ride to treatment, but some may not have a way to get there. The American Cancer Society Road to Recovery program provides transportation to and from treatment for people with cancer who do not have a ride or are unable to drive themselves.

Swim for Life

Swim for Life is an annual 2 ½-mile, team-based swim across Lake Washington from Medina Beach Park to Madison Park. Each Year, Matt and Sheri have participated on a team in this wonderful event to raises money and awareness for blood collection, processing, and research into blood-related illnesses and cures!

Seattle Union Gospel Mission

Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission provides emergency care and long-term recovery services to hurting and homeless people in the greater Seattle area. Throughout the year, Sheri and Matt have the great pleasure of assisting with meal-preparation and distribution as well as fundraising efforts.

Windermere Community Service Day

Every year, Windermere closes its offices for one day to help make a positive difference in our local communities. For more than 20 years, Sheri and Matt have participated in the planning and organization of Bellevue West’s Community Service Day with neighborhood-enhancing projects in the areas where our Windermere teams live, work, and play.
